Noosphere client is now open sourced under permissive BSD-3 license. Noosphere is the name of Peercoin Foundation’s implementation of ROAST (Robust Asynchronous Schnorr Threshold) signatures.

The **noosphere** refers to a philosophical concept popularized by thinkers like Vladimir Vernadsky and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, describing a global sphere of human thought, consciousness, and knowledge that emerges from collective interaction and communication among individuals. In essence, it’s the idea that through collaboration and interconnectedness, humanity develops a shared, higher-level intelligence or consciousness beyond any individual’s capacity.

In comparison, **MPC (Multi-Party Computation)** using schemes like **ROAST** can be viewed as a practical, technological manifestation of similar ideas. Just as the noosphere emerges through collective sharing of thoughts, MPC enables groups of individuals or entities to collaboratively produce cryptographic results.
