# Does peercoin use the newer Segregated Witness (SegWit) format for wallet techanology in latest version

i want to know peercoin still need to use legacy wallet support ?? its new version change to descriptor wallet .If newl compile and build peercoin , does still need to use berkleyDB 4.8 ?

Peercoin uses segwit since version v0.8.

Descriptor wallets are introduced in v0.12.

BerkleyDB 4.8 is only used if you need to maintain backward compatibility.
